What is Notopterygium Extract?

Notopterygium extract or Notopterygium forbesii Boiss. are extracted from the dried rhizomes and roots of the Umbelliferae plant. It has obvious analgesic, anti-inflammatory, improvement of blood circulation and enhancement of body immune function. Its main active ingredients are coumarin compounds represented by quinol, proanthoside and isoprexulin.

Active Ingredients

Chemical components: The main chemical components isolated from notopterygium root powder are volatile oils and furanocoumarins. It also contains phytosterols, various oligosaccharides, monosaccharides, organic acids, amino acids, etc. The volatile oil content in quince is about 2.7%. The components in the oil include α-Pinene, β-Pinene, Limonene, and Terpinen-4-ol. , the coumarin ingredients mainly include quinol, naodakonin, bergamotol, etc.

2. Nodakenin: synonymous with proanthoside. Colorless plate-shaped crystals (ethanol), mp.217.5℃～219℃, [α]D+24° (C=0.9, ethanol-water, 1:1).

3. Notopterol: colorless needle crystals (ethyl acetate: hexane), mp.Chemicalbook90℃～92℃, [α]D0° (C=1.0, methanol).

4. Marmesin: synonymous with marmesin and marmesin. Molecular formula C14H14O4, molecular weight 246.25. Flake crystal (acetone, ethanol, benzene or ethyl acetate), mp.189.5℃, [α]D+26.8° (chloroform).

5. Others: Ethylnotopterol, molecular weight 382, colorless viscous substance. TLC shows bright yellow fluorescence under UV light; notoptolide acetal (Notoptolide) is a colorless oil. TLC shows bright yellow fluorescence under UV light, which may be a secondary product in the extraction and separation process; epoxy dehydrated notoptolide ( Anhydronotoptoloxide), colorless oil, TLC shows bright yellow fluorescence under UV light. 6. Antibacterial effect

Qianghuo volatile oil at 0.004mL/mL and 0.008mL/mL has antibacterial effects on agar. At 0.002mL/mL, it has antibacterial effects against Shigella flexneri, Escherichia coli 126, Typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.
